I walked out feeling proud after donating blood… and got robbed by a monkey.

Description
Yash donated blood at AIIMS to help a friend’s relative in urgent need, expecting a straightforward and meaningful experience. The process was smooth, the staff supportive, and the feeling of helping someone deeply fulfilling. But just as he stepped out with his post-donation refreshments, a monkey had other plans, snatching them right out of his hand. A small, hilarious twist to an otherwise heartfelt act of kindness...
Yash Kumar's Story
I recently accompanied a friend to AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences) because his relative urgently needed blood.
Without hesitation, I decided to donate.
The entire process was smooth and well-organized. The medical staff was calm and attentive, making sure I was comfortable throughout the screening and donation. Everything was clearly explained and the procedure itself was straightforward.
After donating, I was given juice and biscuits to help with recovery. A small but thoughtful gesture. I walked out of the hospital feeling good. There’s something grounding about knowing you were able to help in a moment of need.
And then, just as I stepped outside… A monkey came out of nowhere and snatched my refreshments straight out of my hand.
It was so unexpected that I didn’t even know how to react at first. At the moment, it was mildly tragic. In hindsight, it’s honestly hilarious.
Even with that small twist, the experience stayed with me. It reminded me how simple it is to make a real difference. A small act like donating blood can mean everything to someone else.
And sometimes, you just have to sacrifice the biscuits too.
