Today, at 24, he has already donated blood 10 times and continues to do so regularly, turning a simple decision into a lasting commitment to saving lives...

Aravind Velmurugan's Story

I donated blood for the first time during my college days. It was not something I had planned earlier, but one inspiring moment completely changed my perspective.

During a blood donation camp organized in my college, a 60-year-old man was invited as the chief guest. In his speech, he shared that he had donated blood more than 100 times in his life. Hearing that deeply moved me. At his age, with so much dedication and commitment to helping others, he stood as a living example of humanity and service.

One statement from his speech stayed with me. He said that when we donate blood, our body can recover the donated blood within 48 hours. He also mentioned that a single blood donation can help save up to four lives. That thought truly inspired me. I realized that something so simple from my side could become life-saving for someone else.

That day, I decided to donate blood for the first time. Initially, I felt a little nervous, but the experience was smooth and safe. After donating, I felt proud and fulfilled. It was a small act, but it gave me a big sense of responsibility and satisfaction.

Now, I am 24 years old, and I have donated blood 10 times so far. I make it a point to donate once every three months. Blood donation has now become a habit and a commitment for me.

For me, blood donation is not just a medical act. It is a responsibility towards society. If we are healthy and eligible, donating blood is one of the simplest ways to contribute to saving lives.

I strongly believe that awareness and inspiration can create more donors. Just like that 60-year-old donor inspired me, I hope my story can motivate others to step forward and donate blood.
